BELLA NAIJA - NIGERIA FASHION WEEK - DAY 3

Hey everyone, I hope you are enjoying the Fashion Week even though the overall consensus has been that the clothes are great for the runway but 'not so wearable'......I agree but runway is more of a spectacle to bring attention to the designer so I guess that's why....Anyway, I hope you like this collection...ENJOY

BELLA NAIJA - NIGERIA FASHION WEEK - TIFFANY AMBER

THE DESIGNER
image hosted by ImageVenue.com
Lawyer turned designer, Folake Folarin-Coker nee Akindele, wife of Folarin (Folly) Coker is one of Nigeria's most popular designers. She is well known for her designs created using breezy fabrics in summery colours....From her first show in the late nineties till today; Folake’s designs have exceeded expectations and pushed classic design boundaries. Tiffany Amber is also one of the very few mainstream Nigerian labels with a ready-to wear line…
You can find Tiffany Amber at their various flagship stores including @ the Palms Mall Lekki Lagos and Isaac John Road GRA Ikeja Lagos.
Mona did a very thorough and informative Nigerian Fashion tribute which featured Tiffany Amber. See HERE

FUN FACT
My sister modelled in Tiffany Amber's first ever fashion show...lol....couldnt think of any other fun facts

I admire Folake and think these designs rock! I like the 2 main dresses best!
What do u guys think?

lol@ PSB.. you took the words right outta my mouth. WHTA IS UP WITH THE MODELS AND THE DARK LIPSTICK... JEEZE.. it just aint working. I actually like these designs by Tiffany Amber because they are stylish and I can actually see myself rocking some of them. But the models are not SELLING the clothes at all and the make up is just GROSS. I'm sorry to be so crass but I am jut highly annoyed by black lipstick when it is not needed. Me thinks someone needs to fire their make up artist and hire ADDY and ICY to rock the runway...lol.. abi what do ya'll think.
By the way Bella upgrad to beta abeg. I cannot log on with my sign in

bella, good job, but i think u have totally over done the whole fashion thing....its a lil tired now.....if that was the point of the blog then make that clear, if not change it up a lil, variety is the spice of life

The reason for the make-up is because in the case of a showcase where its a shared slot the designers share the models and if the majority of the deisgners agree on one look, the ones that dont like it just have to go with it. I shared a show with Tiffany Amber in Durban & we had that dark lipstick and I remember Yetty seeing the pics and complaining about that. When you have an indivisual slot then you have complete control on hair and make-up.

Thanks for all the comments...

about the issue of the black lipstick....These collections by Blokes n Divas and Tiffany Amber were part of an African showcase at this year's Cape Town fashion week....the hair and makeup was done for them and i guess the person who did it wanted something tht would complement all the designer's collections....I think the makeup artist did a horrible job...sorry...the girls would have looked much better with fresh bare faces....

@anonymous...thanks u for ur comment....as per the fashion thing....yes variety is the spice of life lookin through my blog...out of the last 12 posts on my blog only 4 have been fashion related....
although I didnt like math in secondary school from my calculations...tht's only 33%...lol...anyway my blog is about fashion and entertainment so if u r expecting to see something else look elsewhere

I love her designs. The first two dresses are lovely and the ones with the frilly skirts are trendy. I think her clothes are definately wearable. I can see myself rocking them to a wedding or other special occasions.

yeah I agree her dresses are lovely and some of them look pretty wearable for a change!

Bella, you do such a lovely job posting the fashion updates here. kudos to you. But come o.. what is wrong with the clothes or rather which yeye people reached a consensus that the designs are not wearable? Every single one of this clothes are fantastic and can be worn just as they are. People can wear this clothes to all those Hollywood-ish replica events that take place in Lagos & Abuja & Port now. Yeye pp. If they don't tie wrapper the outfit is not complete.
