RUNDOWN

Hey Everyone!
First up, how was your weekend? I hope you spent the weekend praying and fasting for Nigeria lol....its not even funny, the way this election thing embarrassed us, I'm sure some of y'all had to hide your heads when your 'foreign' workmates, schoolmates, friends started quizzing you about it. You know how they do, because they managed to watch CNN or BBC, they think they know all about Nigeria.

Sample conversation below -
Clueless 'oyinbo' CNN/BBC watcher with a smug smile on their face: Hey Bella, the elections were pretty bad huh?
Bella *trying hard not be irritated*: Yes
Clueless 'oyinbo' CNN/BBC watcher with a smug smile on their face: Did you vote?
Bella *trying hard not be irritated*: No
Clueless 'oyinbo' CNN/BBC watcher with a smug smile on their face: Why not, because its your civic duty.
Bella *In my mind I was thinking, this dude is still speaking 'grammar' to me, civic duty ko, civic duty ni? hissssss. Is that government class? I already finished that in SS3, I don't need a refresher from you oo*: I couldn't vote
Clueless 'oyinbo' CNN/BBC watcher still with a smug smile on their face: You don't seem fazed by this travesty
Bella *losing patience*: I'm not
Clueless 'oyinbo' CNN/BBC watcher *now chuckling*: The guys on CNN said that they were stealing ballot boxes, how hilarious is that?
Bella: Umm...I have work to do. Bye.
LOL. Its not their fault that our election has turned to 'cinema' for them, its ours!

Anyways, sorry for being MIA; No I wasnt kidnapped as suggested by Kpakpando. She said, 'was bella kidnapped by the yar'adua camp to ensure his victory abi na wetin?' LMAO, girl u r tooo funny. Basically, nothing much has been going on as per because of the elections so I had nada to blog about.

Aunty Bella

I was hoping you would write about this!

I feel violated - I went home to vote – spent my hard earned money on an airplane ticket as I had registered in January during the hols. Apparently my name was not on the register near my house where I had registered so they said I should go to another street (30 mins walk) - so that I can be walking all over my area in the hot sun like an aimless individual.

My oyinbo boss who does not even know that Nigeria is in Africa gave me the low down on godfathers, snatching of ballot boxes, thugs etc, lorries carrying thumb printed voting papers. Guys, we need to do something about these idiots our so called democracy (how can be guaranteed victory becos you belong to a certain political party (shame on OBJ) after all the good reforms this is what he can deliver for the elections. Our future is is at stake. How different is this from Abacha's dictatorship (only that more people can now steal money)

Oh Bella is back o...i was really beginning to think that "Kpakpando" was telling the truth..please allow the clueless oyinbo o...maybe he too should carry his behind and go to Naija and vote next time,...ODE!!!

Seemed like they sha had fun @ these awards.
As in Madam Kofo's gele is off the hook...pity the poor person who sat behind her.
*Pictures next to Emeka Ossai is a now fat Francis Duru and Toyin Ajai(broadcaster..use to have a show on Tv a while back)
Wow on the chic in the blue dress...as in no comment.

Still loving Idols W.A...money on Omawunmi to win..she is improving as the weeks go by...shocker though on why she was in the bottom 3..didn't see Mercy leaving...but anyways wish her the best of luck in the future.

God should continue to bless our dear country....'cos if not for God...a war would have broken out and the country...be non-existent right now....
Is me or is Madam Kofo's gele style overplayed?
Empress needs to take that horse tail wig out for real....And is she dating Keppy Ekpeyong?
And Chioma Chukwuka looks pregnant...maybe she is....

empress njamah just looked like she stepped out of those 9ja movies were she was acting as a mammy water (mermaid) or something. Chioma Chukwuka looks very big now. Did she have a baby or did she just let her self go becuase she got married or what???

Madam Kofo's gele no get part 2 at all o. As for the lady in the blue dress, for crying out loud u're wearing a gown with a deep V, then wear a good bra. Nobody wants to see sagging breasts, very unappealing!

Bella,I couldnt help laughing when i read the dialogue btw u and the clueless Oyinbo. I dont think the oyinbo is wrong in asking cos he is clueless and wants to know more. Its just a shame that telling him more would be washing our dirty linen in public.
I am one of the most disapointed in the Nigerian elections because prior to the debacle called eletions i had been one of those strongly urging people to get registered and vote with the strog belief that it wont be business as usual this time around but what did we see- indiscreet rigging and massive election malpractices.
Na only God go save us.

i am highly dissapointed in the elections o..infact i am upset..Empress looked horrible in a Donatelloo versace wannabe hair and dress

Bella, I'm glad your free jare, e no go betta for the people wey kidnap you walahi! Tell that oyibo pesin to sharrap with immediate effect, because even here in the US we had elections drama the past two elections so even oyibo people get it wrong, fine not as wrong as we did, but wrong all the same. Hisss anuofia. Luckily I work with some pretty close minded folks who probably couldn't point naija out in a map much less read news and have it click for them, olodos are good for something sometimes.

Wassup with Keppy and Empress?
Does Empress know a beyonce mamy water wig attacked her head?
Can you get a cell phone signal with Madam Kofo's gele?
Is it ever hot enough in naija for knee high boots? I know you're going for a Mary J influenced look, but haba a cow print cowboy hat? Maka why?
Does Osuofia really need army escort? Are things that serious?
Is "Nmawu chic" a new look I haven't heard about Muma Gee?
Does that guest girl in the blue dress know her girls look like they're about to escape to freedom?
What kind of animal has perched itself on top of Ibinabo's head?
Tony Tetuila reminds me of a troll, just without as much hair.
Omosexy is opressing me o, she looks too good to have borned 4 pikin, chei.
Ramsey Noah did Atkin abi na wetin, looking all good and stuff, na wa so life is sweeting him like that?

LOL at your conversation with your colleague Bella. Fortunately for me, nobody in my office knows what's going on in the world, so I haven't been queried.. It's such a shame though, Nigeria has come to this, even under a democracy. I must have heard the election fiasco gist on BBC like 200 times over the weekend.
Thanks for the photos on here. Most of them made me laugh!

I kinda like mummy Gee's red top; it's her eye make-up that had me running to the other end of my room.
Definitely a bad hair day for Empress. Why am i thinking Chuky the crazy doll wld have rocked it better?
Ramson looks all tight and I didn't know Monique went to Naija.
No oyibo should ask me any funky question cos they've probably spent the last few days paparazzing through CNN updates. All will be well someday.....

The lady in the blond wig looks like a damn transvestite...she needs to get it together.

All in all only Omosexy can dress herself. Where can I get that dress?

NKIRU SYLVANUS! NKIRU SYLVANUS!! NKIRU SYLVANUS!!! How many times did i call u in BLOCK LETTERS? Did your mother not tell you that it is a bad habit to over accessorize your self? Anyway, i don't blame you, with the masquerade attire you are spotting, you definitely need tohad the jingles to complete it....

Anonymous said...

i like empress njamah's gown. it is nice, though the hair is not all that, would have been better if it was black extensions... she used for the braids.

Omotola is fiiiine.

keppy ekpeyoung bassey had to work someone down the red carpet, he didn't have a choice.

naija should have fashion police 'cause most celebrities are committing fashion faux pas.
