IDOLS WA - A PROPOSAL & 2 SONGS

Hi Everyone,
How is your week going so far....
Hmmm.....I've got something HOT coming up this week..
Hopefully, it'll be ready by Thursday.
So here is another Idols WA update...I know some of you are sick of it by now but its getting close to the finish line so we might as well finish what we started....

This week's episode was exciting because the Idols West Africa presenter, Mike Majic proposed to his fiancĂ© during the show. According to the Idols WA website, Here is how it went down…
“A young lady was randomly(?) picked from the audience by Timi and Eric. She stood on the stage and a song began to play – ‘Liberian Girl’ by Michael Jackson. Then a message appeared on the largest of the screens on the stage – “A message from Mike Majic…Malia…Will You…Marry Me?” The crowd shared in the magic (pardon the pun) of the moment as Malia stood on the stage bewildered by what was happening. Her boyfriend of 7 years was finally (!) proposing and he was doing it in front of hundreds of people, in what can only be described as a fairytale proposal!”

Awwww…

“Malia was hesitant to speak after the proposal, saying that she had not yet told her parents. She confirmed that the song was a tribute to her Liberian nationality, that the two of them had met in church seven years ago and that Mike is, “Really sweet and caring.”

____________________________________________________________________

Timi - ‘Flying Without Wings’ by Westlife
Timi - Michael Bolton’s ‘How Am I Supposed to Live Without You’

Omawumi - Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Without You’ – The judges said her performance was terrible but I don’t think it was that bad…
Omawumi - ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor

Eric - Seal’s ‘Kiss from a Rose’
Eric - Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long’

Jerrilyn - ‘Never Too Much’ by Mary J. Blige
Jerrilyn - ‘The Voice Within’ by Christina Aguliera – Surprisingly ok – but she was still voted OUT

Temitayo - ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’ by Whitney Houston
Temitayo - ‘Reach’ Gloria Estefan

That's it for today....Let us know what you think about the proposal and the performances.....Also what do you think about the Idols WA fashion (outfits, hair, makeup etc...) so far? Have a fabulous day. Kisses!~

was she hesitant because she had not informed her parents about her boyfriend of 7 years or about the engage.

Thanks GOd you brought that up. i was really wondering which hair stlyst they contracted with the idols.

I really don't think they have a stylst. you know we africans are very cheap. how can you be on stage with braids. ahh. they need majoy improvement in the wardrobe & hair department

Aww thats so sweet...tho' i no want public proposal but hey we r all different. At Anon 10:43, pls dont come with all these sexist comments, what's wrong with a man kneeling down in public for a woman especially since it's for a marriage proposal? Abeg behave o...don't even start..

Anyways abt Idols, loving Omawumi as always, glad Jerrilyn is out...though I have to say that Temitayo impressed me this week...have never really paid attention to her but must say she really tried 2day abeg...well done to her...Eric u too gorgeous abeg..how far now?? lol

Using your girlfriend as a stunt to increase the ratings for your show? That is just sad. I've never been a big fan of the whole proposing on TV bit anyway. Sha, happy married life to them.

These stupid nijer niggrs are barbaric. Why are they mad the guy kneeled for his chic. he must not be from naija. daymn these two commenter guys are pure barbarians, or are you jealous you arent in a posiition to propose publically. I no go lie if I watched it myself I would probably want to puke or think it hella super cheesy but why does it now have to be for ratings?

CAN I GET A HATER IN THE HOUSE?

loll @ bella for that extra special O.UW.T. OUT for jerrilyn lllllollllll

oh, their clothes are ok off and on but yahhrr, there does seem to be some element of cheape to whoever was hired. the makeup is mos def a joke, but again I wont hate on the clothes I think I have actually been surprised but not elated a time or two. I still think the EKWE girl always stands out.

  19. I thought that Mike's proposal to his lady was very very sweet..got the whole of Mnet's viewers..."awwwing" in different languges...Now the singing of Liberian Girl was just a bit too cheesy for me...African Queen sef would have been better....but hey she said yes instead of embarrasing him on Tv.

    Now to the W.A contestants...

Timi-seriously feeling him more and more each day....his version of Westlife's song was FLY men!!

Omawunmi-with the FAB talent she has totally agreed with the judges on the 1st song...but she totally redeemed herself on the 2nd...Keep it up girl...OMAWUNMI 2 WIN.

Eric-Good stuff...possible contender for winner too

Jerrilyn-Finally she's been booted out..with that big behind of hers(ok i'm seriously hating here o)...and funny enough she actually wasn't that bad this time round...well well wish her the best of luck sha in the future.

On their fashion sense..it's usually a hit and miss with those people...Infact sef Bella who deals with their fashion???hair, makeup the lot.

  20. TIMI IS MY IDOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! The contestants are styled by Temi Ogunsanya of Tiger Tem & Collectibles.

I am so glad jerrilyn is out. Timi must win....And the proposal was so sweet. Mike is an awful host but oh well...Loving the fact that Malia didnt seem to be expecting it...

  21. that was romantic... heya... just cant stop imagining the proposal... itz tew mush(its too much)

    ReplyDelete
  22. That was so so romantic!!! Thank God she said YEs. Would have been an international embarassment for him if she had either said 'NO' or 'Let me think about it'. Wishing them both the very best.

D styling of this show is just awful, no consistency there. One week they have afros, another they are wearing this next week wearing something completelty different. Its almost like experimenting with the contestants and making them into different people. You have to work with someones personality when styling them and add on to what they have already. Look at Beyonce. She works with diff stylists but they know her style. Just threw that in cos me likes beyonce.
As for the proposal, that was cute am not into all that mushy stuff, but I wish them all the best.

so i just listened to all the other performances....if Omawumi sucked then the rest might as well have been scratching on glass cus they were all terrible!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous3:25 PM

Great efforts by all contestants. My thing is singing of American songs should be balanced with that of African songs. Wholeheartedly agree with everyone on the styling issues. But, there's a chance next time for them to get a stronger stylist. No one favorite, per se. They all get their personality sha. Either of the guys & omawunmi I think have more of an international appeal, should WA Idols plan to liason with American Idols. Bella, looking forward to THURSDAY!

    Nice blog bella.

  38. Anonymous6:00 AM

Malia didn't look drab she just dressed very casual that's all. She's still pretty anyway...(do dudes consider that when deciding if to make a public proposal?)

Jerriyn's performance really wasn't bad. I do wish her the best....hisses at the person who called her a refugeee.

I hold a different view on the Ekwe performance. The +ve reviews are exaggerated. I actually prefered Jodie's to it.
