TIFFANY AMBER - CRUISE CONTROL

At first glance, the collection from Tiffany Amber featured in this photo spread did not grab my attention but when I took a closer look, I started to appreciate the detailing, finishing and the excellent cuts.
Folake Folarin-Coker has a certain flair with her designs.
From her first collection at the Flamingo Restaurant years ago (does anyone remember that place?!) till today. You can see her consistent message.
Clean, flowy cuts that flatter women of varying shapes and body types.
I admire her consistency as well. The Nigerian fashion industry is soooo fickle! Hot today, gone tomorrow! But Folake has managed to buck that trend.
Love the concept of the spread as well. It was styled by Omoyemi Akerele.
What do you think?

  4. I really like the spread, the concept is excellent for the designs featured. I agree with you about Tiffany Amber - consistency in the word. She has found her niche and does really well with it.

  9. Bella-agree with your initial observations. Love the styling and shoot concept. Favorite is the yellow/gold dresses with the floral print looing dress in the middle. That made me look twice. I also like the very first pic. Something different. As to the rest of her collection, I have seen stronger in her boutique at the Palms. But, really love the shoot concept, 'cruise control.' Nice!

visited her shop when I was in lagos recently must say though she is trying to look couture, am not sure they are couture enough..

there were some tunics I saw and they looked like what you would find in M&S... and some of her dresses were not really that spectacular..but I can definitely say she's getting to the level of ZARA AND MANGO.. but couture I don't think so....

honestly no disrespect I think she is talented designer..but the uhmm factor for me, it's not there..

HI,the kaftans were nice but some of the dresses look like copycats of monsoon and principle clothes in the uk.

I do not know what all the hype is about Tiffany Amber. I liked her tie and dye outfits, but other than that her designs lack originality. I have seen these designs in the stores in the US.

I don't much care for any of the cocktail type dresses, they just seem like copies of what you've been seeing elsewhere... well i do like that last gold dress though.

My only issue is whenever i wear m tiffany amber in nigeria at a party or something, i find that chances of someone wearing the same dress are very high.

I can't for the life of me believe that ANYONE is supporting Agbani's "phonetics". What nonsense! It sounded razz and if you sound like that you are RAZZ. How dare anyone say she has to speak like that to be understood. If you speak in a proper Nigerian accent you WILL be understood, try it sometime.

I am sick, sick, sick of Nigerians thinking that they have to practically bite their tongues to be understood. YOU SOUND FOOLISH AND LOOK STUPID. Learn to pronounce words properly and you'll be fine in any accent. I won't even go into the nonsense of her picking up her accent from her family member's kids in jand...WTF! THe girl went to Uni of Portharcourt...geez!

By the way, IT IS NOT HATING TO GIVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISICM. The idiot that said we should use our real names should start by asking why Bella doesn't use hers, IT IS THE FLIPPING INTERNET. Don't be silly, who wants razz randoms like you who think that "accents" make you posh knowing our names! I'm fuming.

  21. Now this is what I'm talking about. It's obvious tiffany Amber has stepped up her game, significantly. It's things like this that get me so excited. The clothes, the models, the concept, the execution, everything done to perfection. Major kudos to the stylist. Very impressive.

Omoyemi Akerele to me is one of the most creative people have ever met,ha they don't teach that in school now it takes Raw talent!
Then Folake Coker is another very creative person, her styles are sexy yet power executive and very versatile.I love the soft glamour in her clothes.
Bring the two of them together and see what you get.CRUISE CONTROL.
Stuffs like this shows Nigeria's human resources....but when do we start exporting this creativity ...This women will hold thier own anywhere in the world. Please push on so the world knows we have more to export apart for scam.e.g Victoria Beckham styled by Omoyemi Akerele on red carpet. We are nigerians a.k.a the passionate people.Go gals.abi now..YESIDE

Too much criticism people. They are hardworking people. The models, the photographer, the make up artist, the brain who put the shoot together and off course the designer. There is a difference btw constructive criticism and player hating. DONT HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME!

Ify if that comment regarding erm, comments was in response to me, I didn't actually post anything offensive, and was asking as I was just wondering why it was taken down.

Also, I'm sure you can see from the first word IN my comment that I wasn't talking to you, so don't know what you're responding to me for. Why don't you go get a life or go get laid or SOMETHING and stop being so aggressive.

just visiting this blog for the 2nd time bt this is my first time seeing these pictures. people, they look very good;the concept and models are divine.
aisha as always looks beautiful, and the other two girls look amazing..the one in purple looks relatively new but beautiful too.i think the other girl ive seen around also.
i do agree with the other person tiffany's clothes are too beautiful but the likelihood of someese sporting them is too high. and the stylist ms Akerele deserves a hug
    bella naija,i love your site...lol
