FLY FASHION - LANRE DA SILVA-AJAYI

For the past year, I have started seriously luving Nigerian designers, clothing and accessories.
Nigerian designers have really stepped their game up. So I will be periodically featuring some top notch Nigerian designs along with pics……
Here is a recent fashion spread that was featured in True Love West Africa.
I love the whole nostalgic vintage look…..

Clothes by: Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi
Hats by: Tiwa Kehinde Benson @ The Hat Lounge
Model: Emifome Emede
Hair: Bobby Eke @ Bobby’s Signature
Make-up: Bayo Haastrup @ Ijade Egbin
Photographer: Yetunde Ayeni
Stylist: Omoyemi Akerele

Fun Fact: The spread was shot on location at King’s College, Lagos…….
Hmmmm….so that’s how it looks

What do you think? Fab? Fugly, overpriced and unwearable? Does KC really look like that?

  1. Love the clothes...FAB just FAB!!!...True Love rocks....Usually some of the prices are a bit OTT because Mr Kasali my Isale Eko tailor can possibly reproduce the same outfit for less than half the published price.
But then again...i might just be a cheap- skate.
And yeah if i can remember as far back as the nineties in those secondary school days..lol!!! :) that does look like KC main campus near TBS Lagos Island...not that i ever went there or anything :)

Totally in love with outdated stuff in general so this is right up my alley. Coincidentally, the afore mentioned designer designed my BFF's wedding gown and it was quite lovely!
I saw the credits and noticed the absence of Tara or Banke Meshida taking credit for make up. Instead it was a "Bayo Haastrup" is he the next big thing? Do yo know?

LOL @ dimples! isn't that what's wrong with Nigeria though? the concepts are reasonably easy to reproduce so it'd have to take some form of brand loyalty (a la prada & gucci) for the average person to spend #100, 000 on one outfit. great entry. i don't know how i feel about the clothes just yet...since everyone's into "vintage" these days and all our sensibilities are turned upside down. in any case, the hats are pretty impressive.
